Hadia Hassan (b. 2000, Sialkot) is a visual artist based in Sialkot. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the National College of Arts, Lahore, and has exhibited her work in group exhibitions at Ejaz Art Gallery, Numaish Gah, O Art Space, and Reservoir Art Gallery.
Her practice centers on imagined landscapes and natural spaces shaped through minimal structures and reduced elements. Rather than depicting specific locations, the paintings exist in a state of suspension between memory and observation, presence and absence. The Land As An Interval reflects this in-between space, one that is neither fully remembered nor directly seen. By removing excess detail, Hassan treats land not as a fixed site but as a pause, where atmosphere takes precedence over description. Color, distance, and silence slow perception, allowing emotion to be held without being defined. The paintings remain open and unresolved, inviting viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations, with meaning emerging quietly through stillness and attention.
For Hassan, the land becomes complete only through the viewer’s presence. The Land As An Interval is therefore not only a place to look at, but a space to pause within, where reflection occurs, and the work continues to unfold through personal connection.
