Ali received his Bachelors in Fine Art from Punjab University and MFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore. Muneeb’s interest lies in the relationship between meaning and form within the text, specifically the Arabic script. Ali endeavours to separate meaning from its visuals by deforming and dismantling them. Ali’s focus is on the calligraphic strokes that intrigue him. He uses them in ways where they are no more letters or words with any specific meaning. The ambiguousness of these forms with the possibility of having a myriad meaning is the essence of his work.
