Biography

Casim Mahmood is a self taught contemporary metal sculptor based in Lahore. He has a distinct inimitable style which has been created through years of toil. His work delves into the otherwise ordinary and brings out the pain and numbness of existence.

“I illuminate the faces of these nameless men, etching their features into the metal surfaces. These sculptures bear witness to the harsh realities they endure—lines etched deep with weariness, eyes reflecting the weight of their forgotten existence. Through these works, I seek to restore their visage to the forefront of our consciousness, to challenge the world to see and acknowledge those left far behind. I explore the shattered dreams and aspirations that lie discarded in the wake of progress. These men once held hopes and ambitions, their potential stifled by circumstance and a society that turned a blind eye.”
