Biography

A Karachi-based self-taught visual artist whose work revolves around a South-Asian cultural backdrop. Abrar confidently explores the vibrant palette in his paintings. His subject explores the glamour of classical miniature paintings that blends into traditional oil paintings in a very mystique manner. The beautifully draped women in conventional colors and motifs seem to be peacefully accompanied by birds and/or musical instruments. The subject covers the composition in a way that depicts the calmness of the old Mughal period. Similarly, the traditional architectural elements favor the entire composition of the painting.

The chosen color palette and the compositions not only enhance the poetic depiction of the paintings but also support the ethnic patterns that often surround his work. The practice of applying bold colors and the use of strong lines influence the imaginative power of the artist’s mind that brings out the individuality of his painting style.
