Biography

Safwan Subzwari is a Karachi-based visual artist whose work captures the humor, contradictions, and beauty of everyday Pakistani life. Spontaneous in style and often using unconventional materials, his art reflects recurring motifs of domestic life, crowded tables, feminine presence, and the absurdities of faith and culture. He has exhibited internationally, including in Dubai, Berlin, and Barcelona, and co-runs the contemporary art  studio Swadmeem with his wife, artist Marium Kamal.

Choti Khushiyan is a body of work celebrating Pakistan through its people, its communities, and the small moments that bring us together. Choti Khushiyan looks at everyday joys shared spaces, quiet rituals, and moments of celebration that exist behind the scenes. In uncertain times, these joys don’t disappear. They are what keep life moving forward. Not as an escape, but as the very thing that holds everything together. An ode to the little joys that sustain us, even when everything else feels like it’s falling apart.
